Cognitive Therapy
Cognitive Therapy That Fits Your Brain—and Your Life
We believe brain health should be a part of everyday health. We’re a brain wellness clinic based in Aberdeen, South Dakota, offering personalized, evidence-based care for people experiencing cognitive changes, brain fog, memory issues, or recovering from illness or injury.
- Neurofeedback – to retrain brainwave patterns
- Cognitive Rehabilitation – to improve attention, memory, and problem-solving
- Functional Brain Training – to support communication, focus, and confidence
- Lifestyle Strategies – to help your habits work with your brain, not against it
Brain Fitness: It’s Like a Workout, For Your Brain
Just like physical exercise strengthens your body, therapy strengthens your mind. Most clients begin with weekly sessions for one month, followed by a check-in after four weeks to assess progress and adjust the plan. Based on your brain health goals, we may address the following areas in your sessions:
- How to pay attention with intention
- How to reduce anxiety so your brain can function more clearly
- How lifestyle factors like sleep, stress, and screen time affect your thinking
- Strategies to improve word recall and communication
- Tools to adapt and thrive with dementia or cognitive decline
You’ll also leave with brain homework—not worksheets, but small, functional changes to build into your real life. These are bite-sized actions that happen throughout the day, not one more thing to add to your to-do list.
Family Involvement Makes the Difference
We strongly encourage family members to participate in sessions when possible. That way, they can better understand what you’re working on—and how to support you. For couples and caregivers, we also offer strategies to improve communication, reduce frustration, and work together as a team.
It’s Not About Test Scores, It’s About Real Life
Our goal isn’t to boost numbers on a report. It’s to help you feel sharper, calmer, more present, and more confident in your everyday life.
We’ll ask, “What’s one thing that would make your day easier?”—and build strategies to support exactly that.
